WhyHotel is an innovative, venture-backed company that is disrupting the norm in hospitality and real estate. We are eager to bring on a Recruiter to add to our incredible team.  

Job Mission Statement

To find, recruit and hire "A" players who execute at a high-level and embody the core values of our company, in a timely manner.

How you will spend your time

Over a typical month, we would expect our Recruiter to work on the following:

  • 60% of time finding, recruiting and hiring operations talent for each hotel. This would include both hourly and salary team members.
  • 25% of time finding, recruiting and hiring corporate and senior hotel operations talent.
  • 10% of time establishing and maintaining recruiting partnerships with universities and other organizations as applicable.
  • 5% of time building and maintaining a pipeline of talented candidates to fill future needs of the company.

Although you will report directly to our co-founder and president, Bao Vuong, you will work closely with all hiring managers at WhyHotel to fill open roles.  On a daily basis, you will interact with senior managers at the individual hotels, corporate staff and our Associate of People + Culture.

This role would be based out of our home office, in Washington DC.

Essential Job Functions

  • Develop and implement plan for recruiting and retaining talent
  • Partnering with hiring managers to determine staffing needs
  • Organize and execute high volume recruitment of hotel operations talent
  • Organize and execute targeted recruitment of corporate and senior hotel operations talent
  • Initial screening and interviewing of candidates
  • Organizing and managing interview days
  • Being a brand ambassador and cheerleader for WhyHotel to candidates
  • Be passionate about the WhyHotel brand and mission
  • Help to build a positive culture at WhyHotel

Education and Experience

At a minimum, a college graduate with a four-year degree and three plus (3+) years' of recruiting experience; or equivalent combination of knowledge and experience. Additionally, hotel experience and a history of helping support the recruiting efforts of a growing organization would be valuable.
